POLICE are trying to trace a man who left the Tesco supermarket, in Northallerton, without paying for a trolley-load of goods, at about 2.10pm on Saturday, May 3.
He drove off in a K-registered Nissan Primera. Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information about the theft, is asked to telephone Crimestoppers on (0800) 555 111.
DANCE CLASSES: The footloose dance class in Leeming will restart on Saturday, September 6. For details call Maureen on (01845) 537423. For information about the Leeming under-fives dance class, which restarts on Monday, September 8, call Kathy on (01677) 424694.
TASTER TOUR: Visitors can take part in a tour of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal estate, near Ripon, on Wednesday. It will include the 12th Century abbey, the Elizabethan hall and the Victorian church. It leaves the visitor centre at 1.30pm. For details call (01765) 608888.
ROAD CLOSURE: Two sections of road in the Easingwold area are being temporarily closed. Spring Street, in the town centre, will be closed for repairs for two days from tomorrow. Skates Lane at Sutton-on-the-Forest will be closed for drainage work from Wednesday until Sunday.
