Home marks 25 years' work

From the Northern Echo, first published Wednesday 6th Dec 2000.

A RESIDENTIAL home is celebrating a milestone after 25 years of caring for elderly people.

Staff at Tanpit Lodge, Easingwold, are holding a party on Monday for residents and officers and members of North Yorkshire County Council.

The date will also be of special significance to two members of staff - cook Celia Dobson and kitchen assistant Yvonne Warren, who have been with the home since the start.

The party will be the second celebration at the home, as it will follow a Christmas fair and open day on Saturday, which will see celebrity guest Hannah Hauxwell perform the opening ceremony.

The lodge, opened in 1975, is a 41-bed home, which offers residential care in three units to people with a range of needs.
